We've previously noted Wolfe's mention in E. B. White's essay "An Approach to Style" in The Elements of Style by Strunk and White (TWR, 23.2 [1999]: 43). In Stylized: A Slightly Obsessive History of Strunk and White's The Elements of Style (Simon and Schuster, 2009), Mark Garvey writes extensively about White's path toward publishing the famous manual on style.
